Our history

Artesanía Boricua Familiar: Reviving Taíno Culture in Buffalo, NY

Artesanía Boricua Familiar is more than a small family business it’s a heartfelt mission to keep Taíno culture alive and thriving. Founded by Dianiz Roman, her husband Wilfredo González, and our daughters Naomy and Camila, this creative family proudly carries their roots from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, to our new home in Buffalo, NY.

After the challenges brought by Hurricane Maria in 2017, they found in art and craft not only a way to preserve their heritage, but also a way to share it with the world. Each handmade piece is a tribute to the Taíno tradition a unique work that tells a story, crafted with meticulous care, deep love, and cultural pride.

Beyond their Taíno creations, Artesanía Boricua Familiar offers a variety of Puerto Rican artisan works, blending tradition with modern design. Many of their pieces are one-of-a-kind, ensuring that each customer takes home something truly special and unique.

Our mission goes beyond creating beautiful art we aim to bring culture, history, and creativity to communities across Western New York through educational and family-centered presentations. We are living proof that it is possible to inspire all generations, from children to adults, to value and embrace cultural heritage and to do it together, as a family.

Celebrating Puerto Rico's rich crafts and cultural heritage, we embrace tradition and innovation to bring you exquisite creations.
